Epica - Discografia

Epica é uma banda holandesa fundada em 2002 pelo ex-guitarrista do After Forever, Mark Jansen. Suas letras abordam temas como amor, ódio, agonia e vários outros.

Primeiro álbum de estúdio da banda, lançado em 2002, The Phantom Agony combina os vocais da soprano SImone SImons e os guturais de Mark Jansen. Teve uma forte influencia da música árabe.

O terceiro álbum veio em agosto de 2007. The Divene Conspiracy foi produzido por Sascha Paeth e conta com a participação de Ariën van Weesenbeek (baterista) e Sander Gommans (guitarrista). Nesta album foi concluido o conceito The Embrace That Smothers, iniciado no álbum Prison of Desire, do After Forever e passou por Phanon Agony.

Lançado em 2012, Requiem for the Indifferent contém hinos e letras significativas. Seu titulo se refere ao fim de uma era. "A humanidade não pode mais fugir do que está acontecendo ao nosso redor: as tensões entre diferentes religiões e culturas, guerras, desastres naturais, uma enorme crise financeira. Como estamos todos conectados, o universo, a Terra, a natureza, os animais e os seres humanos, este período de tempo será o prelúdio para o fim para aqueles que ainda não querem, ou simplesmente não vai vê-lo".
